William "Bill" Holmes

Bill has worked with Perlinski & Company since 2005. He is based in North Tustin in California. Bill’s thirty years of worldwide experience includes the leadership of sales, marketing, customer support and development teams, consistently delivering positive impact on revenue, branding and valuation of technology based companies. ‘Go-To-Market’ experience includes the launching of 15 products in over 20 countries. He established and directed the European subsidiary of a Californian company and managed the business development and marketing for a very successful $41M NASDAQ IPO.

Recent projects

  • Bill is currently advising a Taiwanese mobile security company on sales strategy, business planning and operational procedures during the establishment of their North American and European markets.
  • He is an accomplished international speaker being invited to many major trade events in Europe, Africa, Asia and the US to present or moderate. As the guest speaker at the USC Annenberg annual honors seminar, he explained the secure technology options for identification to 60 journalists from all over North America. At Carnegie Mellon University he explained the role of smart cards and biometrics at a national identity conference.
  • His specialization is realistic planning; Sales forecasting based on factual information that is measurable and achievable, designing commission schemes that are motivational in both the short and long term and business plan development and maintenance to reflect a true picture of the business opportunity, again with measurable and achievable objectives.
  • His other recent clients include a developer of American accent training tools and a company providing telemedicine and home health monitoring solutions.

Relevant Experience
Vice President of Marketing at SSP-Litronic/SAF Link, an Internet security company. Responsible for traditional and web-based marketing, media and consultant relations, business planning for the IPO, product marketing and sales support material.

Vice President Sales, Marketing & Development at Gigatron Software Corporation, a company specializing in information management systems for the legal markets. Bill restructured the marketing and product content for a declining product line, making it the technology leader. Increased market share by 10% with the version update purchased by over 50% of past users.

Managing Director at California Software Products, Inc., a company providing transformation solutions for IBM legacy applications. Bill established the UK subsidiary company achieving self-financing in three months and profitability in one year. He developed product distributions channels throughout mainland Europe.

Background
Bill has held secret clearances in connection with his work for the UK armed forces and NATO. He originally specialized in programming real-time programming for airborne radar and defense systems. He lead the UK government funded development team that created Multiplan an early forerunner to today’s Excel spreadsheet.

Bill attended Watford College, Hertfordshire, England - Computing, Numerical Analysis and Statistics and has completed numerous selling, marketing, management and technical courses.
