Roy is a Partner with Perlinski & Company and is based in Walnut
Creek in California. He has over 23 years of experience with Fortune 500
and Big 5 consulting firms in the consumer products, high-tech electronics,
software, telecommunications, biotech, healthcare, retail, chemicals and
building products industries. Roy is skilled in all areas of supply chain
management including a depth of expertise in supply chain integration,
replenishment, demand forecasting, inventory management, supply planning,
sales and operations planning, order fulfillment, warehousing, transportation,
supplier management, network design, information technology and executive
management.
Recent Projects

Roy facilitated the design / start-up of a new distribution
company that will serve as the sole supplier of products manufactured
in China to customers located in 100+ countries throughout
the world
for a distributor
of camera bags and accessories.

He assisted with the post-merger integration
of a pharmaceutical manufacturer’s
consumer healthcare operations into one of the world’s
largest manufacturers of healthcare products. His efforts
focused on helping the company improve
its demand planning, supply planning and S&OP
capabilities.

He served as the interim Director of Logistics
for a major consumer goods company. He reduced Western Region transportation
spend by 16% and
improved Eastern Region on-time delivery performance from < 60%
to 90+%.

He led a 20-member project team that initiated
a transformation of a leading North American computer manufacturer’s
supply chain. He identified a portfolio of 12 improvement projects
to be implemented over two years
that will generate $880 MM in NPV.

He assisted with the transformation of the supply
chain supporting a major healthcare provider’s Northern CA network of 16 regional hospitals.
The project included implementing a strategic sourcing initiative and revamping
the provider’s inbound supply chain. The changes resulted
in a $7 MM (22%) decrease in annual distribution expenses, $11
MM (45%) reduction
in inventory, and improved service.
Relevant Experience
Director, Supply Chain Planning at Del Monte Foods. In this role,
Roy reduced finished goods inventories by $33 MM (13%) while maintaining
customer service performance, and improved SKU / DC forecast accuracy
by 24%.
Consultant with various Big 5 supply chain consulting firms. Roy served
in leadership roles in the supply chain consulting practices of Andersen
Consulting (now Accenture), Ernst & Young (now Cap Gemini) and Arthur
Andersen. During this period, he worked on 19 different client engagements
that generated in excess of $700 MM annually in supply chain savings.
Supply Chain Manager at H.J. Heinz, StarKist Seafood Subsidiary. In this
role, Roy reduced finished goods inventory by $30MM (23%) while improving
customer service.
Background
Roy has a BS in Chemical Engineering from Virginia Polytechnic Institute
and an MBA in Marketing and Finance from the Indiana University Graduate
School of Business.
Roy is a member of the Council Of Supply Chain Management Professionals
(CSCMP) and APICS - The Association For Operations Management.
